Sustainability
Pre-packaged bottled water is extremely damaging to the environment with more than 90% of these bottles ending up in landfills. These can take up to several hundred years to decompose. Furthermore, it takes three times the volume of water to manufacture one bottle of water than it does to fill it. On a global level, 200 million barrels of oil each year are used to produce, package, and distribute bottled water. In South Africa, this consumption translates to 1.2 trillion bottles discarded every year.
It is for this reason that we are committed to eradicating plastic, and we are on a quest to save billions of plastic bottles from ending up on landfills and in our oceans. Our point-of-use water dispensers cut plastic and provide on-the-go filtered drinking water refills. There is no bottle shipping, delivery trucks, plastic production, or waste disposal.
Partnering with Waterlogic also strengthens this commitment as they are dedicated to the responsible use of natural resources, continual development of clean technologies and the replacement of harmful substances with eco-friendly solutions. Waterlogic conforms to the ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management Systems (EMS) standard, highlighting their serious commitment to managing environmental responsibilities in a systematic way.
